Kahwaji's debut short film Alitisal (The Call) received critical acclaim, earning a 9/10 rating from Collider, one of the most trusted names in entertainment journalism. The film, which screened at Pixar, at Beverly Hills International Film Festival, won Best International Film at Female Voices Rock and is currently touring globally across more than 10 countries, continuing to receive widespread critical praise. It was also accepted into Beirut International Short Film Festival, an Oscar Qualifying Festival.

As a Lebanese descendant, Kahwaji highlighted her pride in her roots and her need to reflect them through storytelling, helping to be a channel of communication with groups that have no voice.
